Hydroton/hydroton is made of clay that is formed into balls and heated to a temperature of 1100-1200 degrees. The burning process at high temperatures so that it is sterile, free from pathogenic bacteria and is able to absorb and bind water well, is porous so that the circulation of oxygen needed by the roots runs well and the pH is more neutral.
Suitable for hydroponic, aquaponic, semi-hydroponic and several other planting systems.
