Usually this black moss is used for orchid plants, if you use black moss for orchid plants, orchid roots can grow faster, are smooth white, look fresh and rarely rot. even orchid plants that use this planting medium can flower about 3-6 months faster than using other planting media. How to use:
- Soak for a few hours in water, then clean it first until there is less soil or other dirt,
- Drain,
- Then soak with fungicide for a few hours.
- move to a pot with the size of the Pot used can be filled with 100% black moss, it can also be 1/3 of the pot at the very bottom, 1/3 of it is styrofoam and finally 1/3 of the black moss at the top.
(The function of this styrofoam can reduce the humidity of the media, especially orchids planted in high humidity temperatures such as Bogor, Lembang, Cipanas or South Jakarta, Excessive humidity can actually be prevented by reducing watering. It is better to water it every 4-5 days if the entire media uses black moss. but if the media is mixed with styrofoam, then watering must be every 2-3 days, especially if the weather is dry.
